| HAIRY BABY GOES RETRO |
|
Think back to the good old days of two channel land, when Fortycoats had his flying sweet shop, where Bosco would say 'Uafásach Marion' and knock on the Magic Door. Mr. Crow, Judge and Sneaky Snake regularly frightened the pants off us in the weirdly psychadelic Wanderly Wagon, compulsive viewing for any Irish child of the 70's! Think way back to when Vincent Hanley came to us weekly from 'merica with the way ahead of it's time MTUSA, 'welcome to the city of dream' he would say. Bunny Carr was giving away a fortune on Quicksilver 'and now Mary, your bonus question for 5p' and Ray D'Arcy pitted schools against each other on Blackboard Jungle. And to take the edge off the fact that you had to go back to school the next morning Theresa Lowe would transport us to far off exotic places like Torremolinos in Where In The World on a Sunday night.
Remember Aohngus McAnally and his odd socks or Mary 'here's one I made earlier' Fitzgerald every Saturday morning on Anything Goes. What about Pat Ingelsby and Pat's Chat. Jimmy 'the memory man' Magee and George Hamilton could be seen on Know Your Sport and a very young Dara O'Brian made his first TV appearance on the kids magazine show Echo Island. It was a magical time where once a week you could be up to your knees in muck on Mart & Market or testing your general knowledge skills against Silvester the talking computer on the futuristic but oddly titled Murphy's Micro Quiz-M. This was all part of growing up in Ireland during the 70's, 80's and 90's and we've linked up with RTE to bring you a fantastic new range of retro t-shirts to celebrate 50 years of RTE. So now you can relive the good old days with your favourite show logo on a Hairy Baby t-shirt. Retro is back and we've got the tees. |
