18 May 2012: It may be over 15 years since we said goodbye to chain smoking liar and schemer Father Ted Crilly, his innocent, inconceivably stupid curate Father Dougal, the alcoholic and monosyllabic psychopath Father Hackett and their devoted housekeeper Mrs. Doyle, but now a new online venture plans to bring these wayward characters from the wind swept Craggy island back to life!

Hairy Baby Clothing Company (Winner Best Online Trader 2010 and Winner Best eCommerce Website 2011), in association with Hat trick productions in the UK have launched the official Father Ted online store WWW.TEDSTEES.COM selling a range of t-shirts that will have you laughing as much as the show did.  

The TV show was developed and written by Irish comedy writers Graham Linehan and Arthur Mathews for U.K.'s Channel 4 in 1995 and ran for three series until 1998. Although its run was short by successful television comedy standards, its impact on viewers was both instantaneous and enduring.

“We’re just massive fans of Father Ted here at Hairy Baby HQ. It’s surreal, silly and very very funny. Although the series attracted an international audience, the humour is still very Irish and we felt that it would be an exciting new project for Hairy Baby. The characters and numerous catch phrases have gained almost iconic status. Every episode is jam packed with hilarious moments and we knew that they would work perfectly on t-shirts”, says Daragh Murphy, founder of Hairy Baby Clothing Company.

Available in black only (the priests wouldn’t have it any other way!), the t-shirts come in a wide range of sizes for both men and women.

“We worked very closely with Hat trick productions in the UK and also with Irish comedy writer and creator of the show, Graham Linehan. We went to great lengths to ensure that the website represented the show in the right manner. The t-shirt designs look great and we’re all very excited about the project’ added Daragh.
