Returns & Exchanges

 

In the event that you might need to send an item back for a change of size or refund please see the following important points to help you receive the quickest possible service. Failure to adhere to these points will result in a delay in processing your request.  

 

Returning an unwanted item

Every Hairy Baby garment is individually produced before despatch and not bulk produced to ensure every item is examined thoroughly to avoid any faults.

Each customer is entitled to a 7 working day grace period to return an unworn/unopened item for a full (excl *shipping charge) refund. This is to allow the customer time to examine their purchase and decide if they are happy with it or not. We can only refund the credit card used for the original transaction and after we have received the item back into stock. We cannot offer cash as a refund option. We cannot refund an item if it is returned after the grace period.

Delivery/Postage costs to return items to HairyBaby

We will only refund return delivery/postage costs if the return is a result of our error with the item. In the event of an error with an item we must be notified of this error within 7 working days and the incorrect item must be returned within 21 days. Incorrect items returned to us outside of 21 days are not eligible for a reimbursment of the postage costs incured by the customer.

Unwashed or unworn merchandise may be exchanged for a different size / style / store credit if received within a further 23 days after the 7 day grace period has passed (total returns time of 30 days).

If an item returned is found to be ineligible for return/refund/exchange for reasons stated within these terms, the customer will be responsible for the shipping costs we incur to send the item back.
 

Any movement on the 30 days returns time frame?

Afraid not, the standard returns timeframe is normally 21 days from when you received your purchase, however we extend ours a further week but cannot extend beyond that. If you purchased a product from HairyBaby.com and you would like to send it back for exchange to another size, colour etc you must send it back to us within 30 days from the date you received it in the post. We will NOT accept any items back into stock that have been out of our stock hold for longer than this period as they are not eligible for resale beyond this point. In the event that you have a product from us for longer than 30 days please do not send it back without contacting our customer service detartment first. Items outside this timeframe that have been sent back to HairyBaby where the customer has not been in contact with us will be returned to customer.


What about for overseas custmers?

*For an exchange of item(s) - The 30 day returns policy begins from the day the customer receives the item, this does not include transit time back to us. Please email a copy of your postage receipt showing the item/items have been posted back to us within 30 days of receiving them. We understand it may take some time for the item/items to get back to us if you are on the other side of the world but once it has been posted within 30 days of receiving them, this is ok. We will make contact by email to advise we have received your items and are dealing with your request.

*For a refund - If a customer wishes to avail of a refund, the 7 day refund policy begins from the day the customer receives the item. You must make contact with us within 7 days of receiving your order to advise you will be seeking a refund. Please email a copy of the postage receipt showing the item/items have been posted back to us within 7 days of receiving them. Failure to do so (or if goods have been posed back outside the 7 day grace period) will render any refund request ineligible. We understand it may take some time for the item/items to get back to us from overseas but once it has been posted within 7 days of receiving them this is ok. 

*We would suggest any items being returned to us from overseas are sent by recorded/registered post only. It is the customers responsibility to ensure goods are delivered.

Can I return a Sale, Clearance or 'End Of Line' item?

Sale, clearance or end of line items cannot be returned or exchanged for any reason other than fault with the garment as the item has been reduced in price to clear.
 

What about personalised products?

Bespoke or custom made items to customer requirements may not be exchanged for any reason other than goods being defective as these are not regular store items and are not eligible for re-sale. 
 

Things to check before sending your item back

Returns should be folded and packaged in a manner that protects the item. Please take care to return the garment to us in the same manner that you would return an item to a high street store. Please understand that the item you return must be eligible for resale and begs the question "Would I buy it if I saw it in a store in the condition I am returning it?". We reserve the right to assess any damage incurred during return shipment and to refuse such items if necessary.

Due to the fact that Hairy Baby Clothing cannot resell these items, we cannot accept returns that smell strongly of (cigarette) smoke, body odour, aftershave/cologne, perfume, cooking/food or are stained with make up. We will not accept returns or exchanges for any item that has been washed in any way, dryed in a dryer, or damaged/stained/marked/skuffed in any way.

Please keep your invoice if you would like to exchange an item. If you require a refund or exchange for any reason you must return the item in all it's packaging, along with your original purchase invoice (keep a copy for yourself) and a brief note explaining who you are and why you are returning the item and it will be dealt with as soon as possible. It is best to keep your purchase invoice apart from your return item to avoid any ink transference from invoice onto garment in cases where the package may get wet which would render your return ineligible.

What are the return shipping costs?

Shipping costs on any non-damaged or non-flawed returns will be the responsibility of the customer. (If you wish to exchange a shirt for a bigger/smaller size please see the next point).

Return Postage Costs Important: We cannot accept personal cheques, franked or any prepaid self addressed envelopes as payment for return shipping costs. Please do not send this method of payment as it will cause a delay in dealing with your order.

The following are the payment options for your return shipping costs;

  1. Rep of Ireland ONLY Registered Post €4.50
  2. UK, Rest Of Europe Registered Post €8.50
  3. U.S.A & Rest Of World Registered Post €10.50
  4. Northern Ireland Registered Post €6.50

Yes, you can. Simply cick the link below and it will take you to our dedicated Returns Shipping Page. Select the returns charge applicable to your destination address and go through checkout as normal. Pop your returns in the post back to us at the address below and we'll set about getting your new size/colour out to you asap.

How long will it take to process my return?

Returns / exchanges can take up to two weeks to process though we will always endeavor to see to them in the shortest possible time.
